Hound Parish Council is made up of 12 elected Councillors who volunteer their time, with none claiming expenses.
In order to be a Parish Councillor, all of the Councillors must have met one or more of the following criteria:
These Councillors meet monthly as a Full Council and only as a Full Council can they make decisions about the following issues: -
To utilise Councillors interests and expertise the Parish Council has the following Committees:
Meetings of the Full Council take place on the second Monday of each month (except for August, when there is no scheduled meeting) at Abbey Hall starting at 7.00pm. Meetings of the above Committees take place on Monday's in between the Full Council meetings.
Members of the public are welcome to attend all of these meetings and participate during the public question time, however, it is appreciated if you could please contact the Clerk, if you wish to speak at any of the Council or Committee meetings.

- Be registered as a local government elector for the Parish of Hound
- During the whole of the 12 months preceding the day of election or co-option, occupied as owner or tenant land within the parish
- Their principal or only place of work during the 12 months preceding the day of election or co-option, was within the parish
- During the 12 months preceding the day of election or co-option, resided in the parish or within 4.8 kilometres of it
These Councillors meet monthly as a Full Council and only as a Full Council can they make decisions about the following issues: -
- Setting the precept
- Borrowing money
- Making, amending or revoking Standing Orders, Financial Regulations and Internal Controls
- Matters of principle or policy
- Any proposed new undertakings

- Finance and General Purpose Committee
- Planning Committee
- IT Committee
- HR and Health & Safety Committee
