Census 2021

The census is coming on Sunday 21 March 2021.

By taking part, you can help to inform decisions on services that shape your community, such as healthcare, education and transport.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) will send you a letter in the post with an access code and instructions, enabling online completion of the Census. Paper questionnaires will be available for those who need them.
You can also get help from census staff in the contact centre over phone, in a web chat or on social media, plus there is a Census website. Additional support includes accessible census guidance and language support. Remember, if you, or anyone you know, needs help, there’s plenty available.

Key Messages

The census is for everyone - each household will be asked to respond
The data you provide is safe - no one will see it for 100 years
Office of National Statistics (ONS) who performs the census does NOT share personal data with ANYONE, not government agencies, no landlords etc
2021 Census will be 'Online First' but if anyone wishes to have a paper copy they will get details of a phone number to call to do this
Census Telephone support will be available during the census if help is needed, this will include translation services
Census officers will be deployed during the census, reminding households who have not yet completed - they will adhere to COVID regulations, and will not enter properties
No census support function or our census officers in the field will ever ask for bank details or money - all support is free
Please do ask for help from friends, family or support groups if you need assistance.
