As part of the extension development of Hound Burial Ground on Saturday 26th February between 9.30am - 2pm, we will be planting 170 metres of new hedgerow which is 1150 hedgerow whips.
We would like to invite you to join us planting these. We will have experts on site to assist, although it will be as simple as making a small hole with a spade and then placing the whips in it and padding it in - a perfect opportunity for children to find their green fingers! We are incredibly grateful to the Tree Council who have provided expert assistance to us in designing our soft landscaping plan for the extension and providing the 1150 hedgerow whips and 56 trees, all of which are native species. The aim of the plan is to enhance the existing habitats and introducing new habitats to increase the wildlife diversity. We encourage everyone to walk as there is limited parking and would ask if possible for you to bring your own spade and gardening gloves (we will have a limited number of spares on site). Please wear appropriate warm, waterproof clothing with sturdy waterproof footwear that you don't mind getting dirty and muddy. Location is the back field of the current burial ground on Hound Road - What3Words - ///guards.warns.foods |
