Eastleigh Borough Council has declared a Climate and Environmental Emergency.
As Sir David Attenborough says, “the scientific evidence is that if we have not taken dramatic action within the next decade, we could face irreversible damage to the natural world and the collapse of our societies." The Council has set out targets: to be carbon neutral by 2025 and to support communities and businesses across the Borough to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. But we cannot achieve this without the help and support of you, our residents. We want to know what efforts you are already making, what you are willing to do in the near future and how the Council can best support you. Why EBC are Consulting Everything we do in our daily lives, from how we travel to what we eat, has an impact on our environment, both locally and globally. This consultation covers areas where residents can take action to collectively respond to the climate and environmental emergency - including travel, energy consumption, diet and leisure activities. By helping us to better understand this, together we can take Eastleigh into a carbon neutral, greener future. Please do provide EBC with your views by clicking on the link and completing the questionnaire here.

Royal Victoria Park is about to burn a huge amount of green vegetation, old wooden seats and posts. This is going to produce a significant amount of air pollution.
