We are looking forward to seeing you all at this years Lantern Parade on Saturday 30th November.
The meeting point for the parade is the Annunciation Church on Station Road which is open from 4.15pm. Refreshments and a small selection of glow toys will be available here until the start of the parade at 5pm. The brass band will be leading the Lantern Parade again this year as we make our way down Station Road to the library. We will stop there to sing 3 carols before counting down from 10 and switching on the Christmas lights. The parade will then make its way to Netley Court Care Home, where we will sing 3 carols to the residents, before making our way along Victoria Road to St Edward's Church. The 3 carols that we will be singing are:
We will be greeted at St Edward's Church by the choir who will sing while everyone files into the church grounds. There will then be a short speech from Rev Sanday and the Chair of the Parish Council before we sing the following carols:
We will then countdown from 10 before switching on the Christmas lights. St Edward's will remain open after the lights have been switched on and they'll be food and drink available, along with a number of different stalls and activities inside both the church and church hall.
