New play area for Butlocks Heath Recreation Field

15/4/2019

Hound Parish Council are nearing a decision to replace the play equipment on the Butlocks Heath Recreation Field behind Hound Parish Hall. We have now shortlisted the designs to the final 3 companies and are looking for all parishioners to vote for their favourite design.

We have placed these online where we are looking for you to vote on your favourite and we will also be holding a walk in session where the 3 shortlisted companies and Hound Parish Councillors will be available to answer questions or queries at Hound Parish Hall on Saturday 27th April between 9.30am until 1pm.

The aim is to have the new play area in place for the summer holidays and the designs and voting form can be accessed here - https://www.houndparishcouncil.gov.uk/butlocks-heath-recreation-field.html

The designs all look great. Do the manufactureres build a high degree of robustness come anti-vandalism properties into the structures?

Its fine having a fancy looking play area but it needs to stand up to the youth/criminal element who will try their best to damage it.

Good morning Simon and the simple answer is yes each manufacturer has built in a high degree of robustness for vandalism and ASB. However, like pretty much anything, if someone wants to try to destroy, deface or damage they will find a way. We would should never not do something just because we may have concerns that it will be damaged and this play area is overdue being updated and replaced.

Why not come along to the open session with each of the companies on Saturday 27th April at Hound Parish Hall between 9.30 and 1pm and talk to them about it. If you haven't already voted, you can vote on the day after talking to them.

The public vote was online for 2 weeks and you were able to vote at the office or on the day at the public consultation.

When we update our website it also instantly posts the news/update on social media.

As previously explained, we are concerned with setting up any distribution list(s) due to potential GDPR implications and it is also contrary to our strategy to drive traffic through our website.
