The Parish Council have secured funding to replace the current play and gym equipment on the recreation ground. Ideally, we would like this to be completed within the next 12-18 months and before we complete the design specification of what we believe may be suitable, we want to ask you what you would like.
Please visit our webpage for more information and an opportunity to tell us what facilities and equipment you would like to see - https://www.houndparishcouncil.gov.uk/stationroadrecredevelopment.html

Please please can we have a really awesome skatepark? Loads of the kids locally travel to hedge end, bursledon, Hamble etc to use theirs as the one at Butlocks is a bit small. The kids would definitely use it - it’s in a perfect location and asking the kids to help with the design would be a great way to get the community involved. We travel miles looking for skateparks..but one right here in the village would be amazing!! My kids would love to help design it!!

Would also love a skatepark for the kids but please keep the kids play area for the little ones!! The wall was great too- I hope they can replace that as we played tennis/football against it during the whole of lockdown

The basketball court is a bit tattered, I go down there everyday now for about a year and when you miss a shot it bounces and ends up going into the kids park as it’s directly behind. this could be sorted with a cage around the court. or Evan moving the court somewhere else on the field if that’s possible this it would be massively appreciated and would be used daily.

Hi Charlie, thank you for your comments. Could I confirm if you talking about the basketball hoop at Station Road Rec or at Butlocks Rec behind Hound Parish Hall?

I am referring to the one at buttocks rec behind hound parish hall. I am close distance between both though so whatever is easier for the council would be massively appreciated and would be very frequently used.

Thanks for confirming Charlie and wondered if you would be interested in meeting at Butlocks to discuss further? If you are, please let me know the best time or give the office a call on 02380 453732.

I have gone to that basketball countless of times and it’s always a struggle to play without getting the ball over the fence and having to walk round a fence or a cage of some sort would improve my experience massively and make it a safer place

New basketball court would be appreciated the current one is used everyday by many people and we do everything we can to look after it but it’s getting old and warn out. This would be much appreciated as currently when we miss a shot it bounces into the kids play park and could possible hit a child this has not happened yet but it would be appreciated a lot

I believe the hoop needs renovating it has no netting and a when you take a shot and miss the ball goes over the fence and has a chance to hit a child. I would love for there to be a cage around it or something like that to make it much safer for the children.

The basketball court is very small and knackered and the kids park takes over that part of the area so If the court could be moved to a different area of the field that would be great

I go to the basketball court there quite a lot and it is getting a bit old and battered would be nice to have it improve or something on long those line like getting a cage put in so the ball doesn’t go In the the kids park also

A new basketball court would be a great recommendation as I go down there and see many playing on the old hoop.

I go down the basketball court almost everyday with my friends and we’ve noticed that the hoop is getting a bit warred down and old and I’m a bit worried it’s going to break soon. Also there isn’t a cage around the court so our balls always go flying into the park which puts the children in danger of being hit and injured. I think rebuilding the the court would help a lot with the health and safety and make it a better court to play on for more people to have fun and exercise. I hope you take my thoughts into consideration

Echoing above comments re keeping the small kids area and giving that an update. Also definitely making the basketball bit up to date would be fab! What about a water park type area?
